I like a little zap in my portraits, the human face has far more character to portray to smudge it up with flat lighting.
Many of my portraits employ a single light source only on the subject. Another portrait lighting style I like to employ is hard light black and white portraits, reminiscent of 1930's and 40's Hollywood Glamour Portraits. Studio, or location photography, from model portfolio's, entertainers, to the CEO's annual report portrait.
